International Conference in memoriam Arghyrios Fatouros

Athens, 9-10 February 2012

The first Annual Conference of the ILA – Hellenic Branch dealt with an issue central to international law, celebrating a decade since the adoption of the ILC Articles on State Responsibility by the UN General Assembly. It brought together distinguished guests such as Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice, Queen Mary London; Professor Catherine Redgwell, University College London; Professor Petros Mavroidis, European University Institute, Florence; and Professor Massimo Iovane, University Federico II, Napoli, with a bevy of young scholars from Greece and abroad. Over two days of discussions in Athens and large audiences, they presented and debated the economic, human and environmental dimensions of State responsibility while a special session was allocated to the challenges of international responsibility beyond the State.

The first annual conference of ILA – Hellenic Branch was appropriately dedicated to the memory of its first President, Professor Arghyrios Fatouros.
